Sherman Island Saturday

Hi,
The SF bay area has been in a strange pattern the last few days, maybe
partly because of all the fires we've been having but that's a pretty
wild guess.
Anyway, I went up the Sherman Island yesterday where it was blasting all
day. At 4:30 I looked out at the river and counted just the sails I could

Flat Noses: More Suseptable To Mast Hits?

The nose on my new board is cut off almost straight across-
little or no curvature.
viz:
[link]
[link]
I'm no engineer, but somehow this looks a lot more vulnerable to
something like a baton fracture from a mast hit - especially from
a skinny. Rounded noses seem like they'd "slip the punch" to

JP Excite 145: Fins?

Just traded my Carve 144 for a JP Excite 145 to get the center
foot strap.
I liked the 144.
I like the 145.
145 seems more like my Kombat 106: turnier, smoother transition
to plane.
144 was more prone to jump onto a plane and, I suppose, was a
little faster/quicker to plane... but that's just guessing on my

River Medway pollution - surely this can't be right

I have been sailing on the River Medway in Kent and came across two
paper factories discharging huge quanitites of effluent into the tidal
part of the Medway. I thought we had stopped doing this to our rivers
the clip of the pipes is on you tube - last three minutes is about the
paper factories
[link]

Can run a
4.2m up through a 6.8m on this board. Sweat spot is 5.2 through 6.5.
Many people have used a 7.5m.
Heaviest New School Freestyler

What's the heaviest you've seen doing or reasonably attempting new
school aerial moves? I've seen just over 200 lbs. Any 220? 240? There
doesn't seem to be appropriate dedicated freestyle boards for people
this size. Is this because of the limited market? Or is it the long
arm of the laws of physics?

Video Clip - Homemade SUP - old Windsurf Barge converted to Standup PaddleBoard?

Maybe a year or two ago somebody posted a video clip here showing an
old WS board that a guy had put about 5 bucks worth of glass on to
convert for SUP'ing. He'd also done the same with a paddle. Does
anybody still have that link or the clip? The video showed him on a wave
with the gear. Looked good to me. TIA

Inflatable roof racks

I want to here your opinion about, if anyone tried it. Considering buying
one called "Handirack", because I cannot leave roof racks permanently on my
company car, and its a hassle to install it. My quiver is max 2 boards 3
sails.
Cheers

OT Giant Skyscaper with wind turbines

How would your view by way of the wind? This building looks like a giant
sail that twists:
[link]
Too bad they can't use the turbines for green power. Perhaps they are, but
to use the energy for spinning the building seems like a waste.

Wanted: F2 Pin Which Goes in Car of Adjustable Mast Track

I'm trying to find a replacement stainless steel pin to fit an F2
adjustable mast track car. It's the pin which screws into the bottom
of the universal joint then goes into the top of the track car.
Specifically I need the one for an F2 Phoenix 340 but I would think
that most F2's would share the same pin. Thanks. Bob T.
